Russia destroys 230 tons of food from Belarus
According to the press office of Rosselkhoznadzor, customs, FSB and Ministry of interior affairs officials detained 57 trucks from Belarus in Smolensk region.
‘According to the re-export phytosanitarian certificates presented, the crop products are of Moroccan, İsraeli and Turkish origin’ said the press release.
Phytosanitary certificates that were issued in Belarus were sent for authenticity control to the competent bodies in the abovementioned countries. 12 certificates turned out to be fake.
230 tons of products imported in Belarus under fake certificates were destroyed on the Smolensk region polygon of solid domestic waste.
The Order on destroying products within the framework of the Russian food embargo was signed by the Russian President Vladimir Putin on July 29. First products were destroyed on August 6. According to various sources during the first days 100 to 320 tons of products were destroyed, subsequently the amount of food destroyed decreased.
